This 3-day, 2-night camp is a full sensory, story-rich journey through the Ballarat goldfields. Designed for Year 5–6 students, it combines deep curriculum connections with the magic of living history, hands-on learning, and cultural reflection.

Students participate in two immersive education programs led by Sovereign Hill educators. Choose from:

  • Gold Fever – roleplay life on the diggings and the Eureka Rebellion

  • Chinese People on the Goldfields – cultural contribution and challenge

  • Aboriginal People and the Goldfields – impact and resistance

  • Put Yourself in the Eureka Story – dramatic re-creation of pivotal events

  • Gold Rush Immigration, Living in the Past – Society or Goldfields STEM

πŸ”₯ EXPERIENCE
Camp includes a Gold Pour Demonstration, Red Hill and Quartz Mine Tours, a Candle or Confectionery Demonstration, and candle dipping. Students also attend AURA, a sound-and-light show that brings gold’s story to life through projections and First Nations storytelling.

Students move through the Diggings, Chinese Village, Main Street, Speedwell Street, Mining and Industry, and the Wadawurrung Cultural Precinct, connecting personal, cultural, and historical stories.
