Museo Italiano is a great place for a school excursion – a must for Italian language classes and also of interest to senior History and English students. The aim of Museo Italiano is to display and interpret the experience of Italians who journeyed to Australia and settled in Victoria. The exhibition explores the themes of Departures, Making Lives, Settlement, Interactions, Identity and a timeline that puts into context the world events alongside Australian events and the Italian–Australian events in Victoria.

About the Program

Museo Italiano is a great place for a school excursion – a must for Italian language classes and also of interest to senior History and English students. Further Infomation

Staff-led programs are offered in Italian and in English for students studying Italian and English. School groups may also book self-guided visits led by the mainstream teacher. Education materials are available for preparation, self-guiding (if applicable) and follow-up activities for all year levels. 

For Years 4–10
'La storia in valigia' is a presentation led by Museo Italiano education staff which explores the stories of Italian migrants and their contribution.
