Students will gain knowledge on the history and development of The Historic Village Herberton, how the village is operated and marketed and how staff are selected and trained. Students will also be able to speak to volunteers who will explain why they engage with the Village and the benefits of this – involvement, interest and on-the-job learning that may stand them in good stead for possible paid employment in a field they are interested in.

Explore the Stories Behind Australia’s Pioneering Past
A visit to the Historic Village Herberton is a must for all students. Portraying the lives of Australia’s pioneers from the late 1800s, it offers a true glimpse into Australian history. An educational experience to the Historic Village Herberton opens the window on a whole other world and allows students from Prep through to Grade 12, an insight into how technology and society has changed over the last 200 years.

Students will have the opportunity to experience what life was like in those early frontier days, while gaining a greater understanding and appreciation of Australia’s heritage.
