Environment and Sustainability
Students will discuss environmental issues, the move from a recycling age to a throw-away society and back again, how and what their forebears recycled, how and what they can recycle at home and school, implications of not recycling and its effects on the planet, pollution and clean energy and human impacts on the environment and what possible solutions they can think of to counter these impacts.

Explore the Stories Behind Australia’s Pioneering Past
A visit to the Historic Village Herberton is a must for all students. Portraying the lives of Australia’s pioneers from the late 1800s, it offers a true glimpse into Australian history. An educational experience to the Historic Village Herberton opens the window on a whole other world and allows students from Prep through to Grade 12, an insight into how technology and society has changed over the last 200 years.
Objectives
Students will have the opportunity to experience what life was like in those early frontier days, while gaining a greater understanding and appreciation of Australia’s heritage.
