At Cool Kids First Aid we believe that anyone can help to save a life. We use Small Steps in an age appropriate, fun and interactive way to introduce children to the basic but essential skills of first aid and managing an emergency. We offer a number of programs that are tailored to each age group from 3 years to 15 years. These program are offered in a range of education services.
Sessions cover basics like calling for help, recognizing emergencies, and applying simple first-aid techniques, tailored to the needs of the class. 1.75 to 2 hour Program for children aged 5-15
The program covers the following:
An introduction to the principles of DRSABCD
Correct CPR (currently not teaching mouth to mask techniques for breathing due to COVID-19).
Introduction to using a defibrillator
How to call '000' utilising our Triple 000 Trainer App
Basics on Asthma and Anaphylaxis including signs and symptoms and treatment
Nose Bleeds
Sprains and Strains
Burns
Snake and spider bite First Aid Treatment
Basic bleeding control
We bring all equipment required for this session - all we need is a space large enough to work in and educators to assist with the small group work. Each child will receive a certificate at the completion of the program.
