Jo Taranto is a nationally recognised sustainability speaker, media presenter and Educator in Residence at Circular Australia. In this interactive school incursion, Jo connects students with the real-world challenges — and exciting opportunities — of building a circular economy.

Through case studies from across Australia, including renewable energy, waste innovation, and Indigenous land practices, students are introduced to the environmental and economic value of thinking differently about our resources.

Jo brings warmth, humour and energy to every session, sparking curiosity while demystifying big ideas like decarbonisation, resource recovery, and circular design. Students will explore how businesses, governments and communities are reshaping the future — and what role they might play.

Each session is grounded in curriculum links across Geography, Business Studies, Economics and Science. Jo challenges students to apply systems thinking, problem-solving and critical inquiry to real issues, and leaves them with a toolkit of actions, questions and resources to keep learning.
