About the Program

The Glow Worm Caves at Mt Tamborine are located within Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard & Winery. The winery has many wonderful features including a Restaurant overlooking the wild duck lake and a Cellar Door open daily for wine tasting and sales.

Further Infomation

Our cave was created to protect the local species of glow worms, Arachnocampa flava. Glow worms are actually fly larvae that glow in the dark to attract and catch small insects. Glow worms are extremely useful in our Australian ecosystems. They help control insect populations.

Objectives

The goal of our cave and our glow worm tours is to make an experience that is accessible for families while benefiting wild glow-worm populations.
