Virtual Bridge Lessons and in-classroom activity sheets are created to provide engaging and educational material for your students! We currently offer two virtual tours:

1. Bringing STEM to life 

A real-life learning experience on one of Australia's oldest examples of engineered architecture. Students will learn vital skills required in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as they take their learning 134 metres above Sydney Harbour...virtually!

Developed in collaboration with industry and engineering professionals to ensure the practical case study provides clear curriculum outcomes. 

What students learn about STEM:

Below is just a taster of topic areas covered:

  • Bridge types, forces, tension and corrosion
  • Geometry in Bridge design
  • Creative and problem solving activities that integrate thinking and content from science, technology, engineering and maths

 

2. Discover the History of an Icon

Uncover the history of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge with the Virtual Bridge Lesson that takes student's on a tour of the BridgeClimb Pylon Lookout & Museum and is aimed at educating your students on the fascinating history of one of the world's most recognisable landmarks.

What students learn about The Bridge:

Below is just a taster of topic areas covered:

  • The planning and construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge
  • Working on the Bridge in the 1920's and early 1930's
  • Sydney in the 1930's
  • JJC Bradfield - The 'Father' of the Bridge
  • The opening celebrations
