Full public tours are included in your entry fee and occur daily. Our keepers will take you to the wombat, devil and echidna enclosures to provide information and an up-close experience.

Please note that sometimes our animals wish to remain hidden during the tour due to weather conditions (or just being nice and cosy in bed!). In these instances, our keepers may substitute for another of our residents.

All public tours allow visitors to see the Tassie devil and learn about their quirky personalities, as well as some of the threats they face and the efforts to help protect them. We suggest an arrival time of around 10am and recommend reserving one of our sheltered seating areas (at no extra charge and subject to availability) for morning tea prior to the tour starting. Our tours run:

  • 10:00am Full Tour - 30 minute tour. Meet the wombats, devils and echidnas.
  • 11:30am Full Tour - 30 minute tour. Meet the wombats, devils and echidnas.
  • 1:30pm Full Tour - 30 minute tour. Meet the wombats, devils and echidnas.
  • 3:30 pm Full Tour - 30 minute tour. Meet the wombats, devils and echidnas.

One of our knowledgeable keepers will introduce you to some of Bonorong’s favourite species and share with you their passion and concern for Tasmanian wildlife.

Not only do we aim to entertain you, we are committed to ensuring that you leave Bonorong with the tools to help conserve Tasmania’s unique wildlife.

To enjoy our wildlife at your leisure, we recommend allowing an absolute minimum of one hour to wander around the Sanctuary.
