Objectives

Our Adventure Camp explores the following themes:

  • Friendship
  • Team communication
  • Respect

We achieve this through the following activities:

  • Archery
    • A much loved activity of Blue Lagoon is archery, our trained program staff are happy to run archery sessions set up on our field which creates a safe and sheltered area to loose your quiver of arrows. Our sessions are designed to be fun, competitive and team spirited and will equip your campers with all of the basic skills they will need to know.
    • Skills taught: loading, aiming, firing
  • Archery Tag
    • Quickly becoming a new favorite down here at Blue lagoon is Archery Tag. Archery Tag is a fast-paced, team-based sport that combines elements of dodge-ball, paintball, and archery. The game is played with foam-tipped arrows and bows, players wear protective equipment such as masks, chest guards, and arm guards.
    • Skills taught: hand-eye coordination, strategic thinking, teamwork
  • Crate Climb
    • Crate climb is an individual activity that encourages encourages team support, personal challenge, trust and teamwork. A climber is handed milk crates which must be stacked and climbed as they go. Team mates pass the milk crates up to the climber and the challenge is to see how high you can go before the tower comes toppling down.
    • Skills taught: balance, cooperation, peer support
  • Beach Discovery
    • Blue Lagoon Beach and Red Ochre Beach are just down the hill and they provide a safe swimming area, beautiful sandstone formations, rock pools to explore and many treasures to discover hidden among the rocks and sand. We run educational beach discovery sessions for your group or you can facilitate your own 'beach time' which is bound to be a hit! Explore the sandstone formations and basalt rock pools, find many different creatures that live in and around the rocks and learn to stop and appreciate the world around you.
  • Initiatives
    • Our range of team-building activities that are great for encouraging interpersonal communication and helping individuals to identify their skills and worth in a group setting. These activities require and enhance problem-solving skills and are a fantastic way to challenge your group and develop trust and team spirit.
  • Big Dipper
    • Our 6m swing is an activity that pushes riders outside their comfort zone. The other participants are responsible for manning the haul line to pull the rider up to the heights. They have to work together and be careful to listen to the rider and stop at the height the rider chooses. The rider then has to have the courage to pull the release and allow the swing to break free. This activity has a high perceived risk factor, and it can be incredibly empowering for the participants to break through the fear barrier and realise that they are safe and even have fun!
    • Skills taught: personal challenge, teamwork, peer support
  • Team Games
  • Night Activities
    • Campfire
    • Movie night
