The Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre is an excellent venue for school excursions. The Centre is a ‘time-machine’, where students can explore historic and modern gold mining, industrial and social heritage and the momentous events of the 2006 Mine Rescue through our many interactive exhibits and activities. A tour of the Heritage Centre reveals themes of geology and precious metals, resource scarcity, mining and industrial technologies past and present, mining culture and language, land and energy use, environment and sustainability, design and engineering and human endeavour.
